Is a 26–27-year-old girl. She lives in a village in the Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha. She got married just two days ago.
And the wedding was such that Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal also attended it. Along with this, many news channels also reached to cover it. Many journalists were also present in this marriage.

The courage to live was answered. The girl visited the hospital for about five years. Had to undergo many surgeries. She was also fighting a long legal battle against the culprit from above. In the midst of all this, he met a man.
Befriended. Fell in love again The special friend proposed to the wedding, breaking the social set that was set about the beauty of the girl.
And just two days ago both of them got married.

What is the full story?
The name of the girl who is married is Pramodini Raul. According to the report of India Today’s Mohammad Sufiyan, it was in the year 2009, Pramodini was studying in the 12th.

One day in April 2009, Santosh threw acid on Pramodini. Pramodini was burnt to 80 percent. The eyesight went away. She was in the ICU for nine months. Then she remained locked in a room in the house till 2014.
She lay on the bed because the body had stopped working. Then in 2014 treatment started again. In a hospital in Cuttack. It was here in 2014 that he met Saroj Sahu, who is a medical representative.
The two did not know each other before, a friend of Saroj introduced them to Pramodini. The two soon became close friends.
Saroj started supporting Pramodini at every step. Both of them got engaged in Lucknow on 14 February 2018 and are now married.
After the acid attack, Pramodini had a lot of trouble in re-managing life. What happened that day, Pramodini told us-
“I was going back from my little aunt’s house. It was a quarter past six in the evening and I was with my cousin. I saw two boys coming on the bike from the front. He was sitting back and looking at him, I was shocked.
He had a glass bottle in his hand. He crossed us and then came back after uttering it. He stopped the car near our bicycle.
My brother said to him — You have come again to do profanity. He said that he has not come to do ill-treatment. He also said that if I did not go with him, he would die. I said that I will not go.
He said that if not, then he will do what you would not have thought even in the dream. I said do whatever you want to do.
When I started sitting on the bicycle, she started threatening me. Then he started pouring acid on my head. I tried to stop him but he did not agree. When my brother tried to stop him, he kicked my brother.
After this, he sat on the bike and shouted that if you cannot be mine, I will not let anyone else. When he left, after some time I started getting irritation and pain. My hair started falling out. Smoke started coming out.
It seemed that someone had gone alive with fire. I did not even know what is this acid and what is its effect. Then I started shouting. Whoever was holding me, his hands were also burning. “
Apart from Saroj, a social activist named Subhashree Das has also given great support to Pramodini. She was also present at the wedding.
According to news agency ANI, Subhashree gave information about Pramodini’s legal battle in detail. He told that Pramodini’s acid attack case was closed in 2012, after that she met him for the first time on a TV channel in 2017.
Then he asked Pramodini to talk openly about the crime that happened to him. The CM was informed by tweeting that Pramodini has not got justice yet and a demand was made to meet him.
Reopened case file
CM called him to meet him. Pramodini met CM with a lot of acid attack survivors. He told them how even today the acid-throwing person is roaming freely. 15 days after this meeting, the file of this case was reopened. After that, the accused was arrested.
However, the case is pending now. Subhashree Das questioned two problems of our country. The first acid attackers do not get severe punishment, the second acid is still being sold in the open.
At the same time, Subhashree has also told about the mentality of those who commit such crimes. What have they said, listen-
“From what I find that out of all such cases in Orissa, no strict action has been taken in one of them. The accused are arrested and then come out after a month or two. Then what happens in someone’s mind that if you are not mine then no one else can be. What is Islam
Which happened to Pramodini, which happened to Poonam Singhal. They say that men consider themselves powerful. The problem is that acid is still found in the market. Whoever can buy and attack.
There is a need to make strict laws and follow them. At the same time, the culprits should also get severe punishment. “
Subhashree had referred to the case of Poonam Singhal. Before proceeding, let us know a little about him. Of the most acid attack cases in Odisha so far, Poonam Singhal is the most discussed case.
The event is of the year 2000. A girl named Poonam lived in the Kalahandi district. In 2000, when she was 16 years old, she was going to school, when some college boys chased her and, after getting a chance, threw acid on her.
In 2004, a trial court sentenced the three accused to 10 years of imprisonment.
Pramodini is happy today. Starting a new life. Now it is not as if everything has happened easily.
Social activist Subhashree says that when Saroj shared her desire to marry Pramodini with her family, the family members were not ready.
Of course, in a country where simple sea love gets married, how can one easily get married to an acid attack survivor who does not fit into the beauty groves set by society?
But the good thing is that Saroj’s family valued his decision, took some time but finally agreed. Saroj met Pramodini at a time when she could not see. Today both are happy, starting a new journey together.
All the best from us.
What does the law say about the acid attack?
Now let’s talk about law. To prevent acid attacks, there are some laws in our country. Like section 326. of IPC, what does this section say and what other laws are there in our country. In this connection, we talked to lawyer Pranjal Shekhar. Listen to what they said-
“When Laxmi Aggarwal petitioned the Supreme Court to enact a special law on the acid attack, two laws were added to the IPC. Section 326 (A) and Section 326 (B). The first law is about causing fatal injury with the use of acid.
The minimum punishment under this is 10 years imprisonment. It can also be extended to life imprisonment. The second law is about attempting to cause fatal injury using acid. The minimum punishment is 5 years imprisonment and the maximum is 7 years.
Apart from these two, there is another section. This is section 100. It is a matter of self-defense during a fatal attack. Another clause was added to it.
Under this clause, if you think that the person in front can throw acid on you or he threw it, then you can also take that person’s life in self-defense. These three laws came after the 2013 amendment. “
In the midst of all this, an important question is also how the acid criminals feel. That too when the Supreme Court has banned the sale of acid. Some petitions were filed in the Supreme Court.
There was a demand that the open sale of acid should be banned so that the incidence of acid attacks can be reduced. There was also a petition of Laxmi Aggarwal, Acid Attack Survivor in these petitions. In 2013, the Supreme Court gave instructions on these petitions.
Said that acid should not be sold to a person under 18 years of age. Anyone buying another acid will have to show an ID card.
Also, you have to tell why he needs acid. In order to reduce the open sale of the chemical, the Supreme Court also ordered the central and state government to make stringent rules.
Then it was also directed that the Victim be given compensation of three lakhs for medical attention and relief. The expert also told us about the rules regarding the sale of acid in the open. Listen to what they said-
“In the case of Laxmi Agarwal, the Supreme Court had asked the states to ensure that if a person is buying acid, the shopkeeper will have to ask for the buyer’s ID. Also, the purpose of buying acid is to ask the shopkeeper.
But if you make such rules, then it is okay that you take the ID and after the crime, you can trace the man. And if you ask someone the purpose, he can also lie. This does not solve the problem.
If I give you the example of Bangladesh, in 2002 two laws were proposed here. First, the death penalty to acid attackers, and second, issuing licenses for those who need to buy acid.
After these laws, there has been an 80 per cent drop in acid attack attacks in Bangladesh. I think such laws should be made in India as well. Also, like rape cases, fast-track courts should be created for these cases as well. ”
Even after the ban on the sale of acid, they are being sold and bought indiscriminately. In 2020, a film was made on the story of Lakshmi Aggarwal
— Chhapak. Prior to its release, Starcast of the film went to the shops and tried to find out whether the order of the Supreme Court was being followed. The result was that Deepika Padukone, who was in the lead role in this film, bought 24 bottles of acid with great ease.
When acid is thrown on the floor, what is the condition of it, you must have seen it at some time in your life. So think what would have happened if this was thrown on someone’s face. We can only imagine this pain.
We can only imagine this pain. Generally, the acids that are sold openly in the market are hydrochloric and sulfuric acid, sometimes also nitric acid. Depending on how dangerous their impact will be, it depends on its concentration.
Doctors say that when the acid falls on the body, it goes on the deep inside until its reaction is over. In such a situation, lakhs of rupees are spent in the treatment of acid attack Survivor.
The National Legal Service Authority (NALSA) of the Government of India had prepared a scheme for rape, gang rape, and acid attack survivors, which was approved by the Supreme Court in 2018.
Under this, there is a provision to give seven to eight lakh rupees to those acid attack servants whose face is badly burnt. So there is a provision of giving five lakh rupees to those who have burnt up to 50 percent.
There are so many compensation provisions for Survivors, but there have been many cases where this money is not passed on to Survivors.
According to the news agency PTI, in November 2020, the National Commission for Women reported that 799 (seven hundred ninety-nine) out of 1273 (twelve hundred seventy-seven) acid attack servants nationwide had not received compensation.
What do the figures say?
Now, let’s also take a quick look at the figures. According to a report by the Data Intelligence Unit of India Today, between 2014 and 2018, a total of 1483 cases of acid attacks were reported across the country.
The maximum number of cases came in the year 2017, the total number was 309. Including both the years 2017 and 2018, a total of 596 cases were received. At the same time, a charge sheet could be filed against the accused in very few of these cases.
The highest acid attack cases were seen in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, West Bengal between 2014 and 2018. These three states were contributing 42 percent to these five-year figures. If you talk about the data proving the defect, then in the case of an acid attack, this figure is only 45.5 percent.
It is not that men do not become victims of acid attacks. But their number is less than girls. And in most cases, the accused is the one whose woman rejects the proposal of marriage or love.
Just because that girl could not be mine, I would scorch her so that no one loves her. It burns, becomes ugly according to social definitions. Just because he did not accept my love, I will give him unbearable pain.
Where does this gurur, this poisonous masculinity come from among our boys?
